PocketSage ("the app") is developed by Aniket Patil ("we", "us"). PocketSage is an on-device AI assistant: language models are downloaded to your device and all inference runs locally. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes.

Data stored on your device

The following data is created and stored only on your device:

• Chat history — your conversations with the assistant.
• Downloaded models — model files you choose to download.
• Settings — model configurations and app preferences.
• Attached photos — images you attach are processed on-device by the local model and are not uploaded anywhere.

You can delete chats and downloaded models at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data.

Network access

PocketSage connects to the internet only for the following:

1. Model downloads. When you download a model, the app fetches the model files from the hosting provider (for example, Hugging Face or Kaggle). Your request is subject to that provider's privacy policy. No chat content is included in these requests.
2. Web search (optional). If you use the web search feature, your search query is sent to the search provider to retrieve results. Only the query text needed to perform the search is transmitted — not your chat history or personal identifiers beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address). If you never use web search, no query data leaves your device.

Data we collect

None. The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking, and no crash-reporting services that transmit data to us.

Permissions

• Internet — used for model downloads and optional web search, as described above.
• Photos / media (read) — requested only when you attach an image to a conversation. Access is limited to the images you select.

Children's privacy

PocketSage is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Third-party services

Model downloads and web search requests are handled by third parties as described above. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any model hosting provider you download from.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes to how the app handles data will be reflected in the app's Play Store listing.
